Joanne Mony Park is a Korean-American filmmaker and educator from Los Angeles whose work explores diasporic experience, queer identity, and the in-between spaces of hyphenated lives.
Her films have screened at Tribeca, SFFILM, Slamdance, Edinburgh International Film Festival, Inside Out, and the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, where her short film Fish Bones received the Grand Jury Prize for Best Director.
Alongside her filmmaking, Mony has taught directing and cinematography at the University of California, San Diego, and Social Documentation in Asian American Studies at the Claremont Colleges. She has also served as a Cycle Advisor at the American Film Institute Conservatory, mentoring emerging filmmakers through the development and production of their work.
Her work has been supported by the Sundance Screenwriters Intensive, CJ ENM and TIFF's K-Story Fund, the AFI Directing Workshop for Women+, Cine Qua Non, and TorinoFilmLab.
